Michal 'Mike' Scinski - KauriMassage founder and therapist

After working for many years as a biologist, I discovered that helping people to reclaim balance in their body and mind through massage therapy was much more fulfilling and enjoyable. My adventure with massage therapy started in 2002 when I qualified in Swedish massage. It gave me a good basis of anatomy and physiology and knowledge of basic massage techniques. Afterwards I trained in a traditional massage from Hawaii – Lomi Lomi Nui which added soothing and flowing qualities to my massage style. In order to work more effectively on chronic tension in deep layers of muscles - especially the neck, shoulders and back area - I studied deep tissue techniques and Thai Yoga massage. In 2010 I discovered and subsequently trained in seated acupressure chair massage. Through years of providing chair massage in a work place and in massage clinics I realised its astounding effectiveness in alleviating neck and back pain and tension in relatively short time. Feedback from corporate clients showed me how important chair massage is for stress relief in work environment.
